the location is very good. The yard is very nice, cute, a lot of roses. The apartment is wonderful, very clean, modern. Very fast Internet, large modern TV, all equipment, dishes, furniture, bedclothes are new.

This was the only available place left for our stay in the area and the price was cheap. The host sent instructions regarding parking and picking up keys from the lock box to my email before our arrival, which was very nice.

It's like Latvian Twin Peaks. Take your time to wander around, up and down, all these wooden pathways and roads. I especially like to walk in Līgatne during the dark hours. Very mystic and inspirational.

This place offers a geography that is not present in most of Latvia. While most of the country is flat as a pancake, this place has some hills and cliffs of exposed compressed sand. Gauja river is nearby if you want to have a swim or sail a boat. There's not much to visit though, and because of the tourists, the prices are insane for Latvian countryside. All three places you can eat in are expensive and the food is so-so. There's a zoo, a suspended net park for kids, and old abandoned paper factory that requires you to book tours in advance. That's about it.

Gorgeous nature, nice walking trails and the nature reserve is a must-visit. And the soviet bunker of course is also a must-see. A great place to visit which is close to the city yet far enough to have its own vibe.
